| Not the best start to the season after Forest lost 2-0 away to a strong Portsmouth team. |

| Things went badly for Forest from the off and on only seven minutes they found themselves 1-0 down when Dion Burton, on loan from D#*by put the ball in the back of the net. |

| There were a few chances for Forest in the first half, with Prutton and Brennan failing to make the most of their chances. |

| Then in the 44th minute Portsmouth scored again when Vincent Pericard headed the ball home from an O'Neil cross. |

| Paul Hart made changes at half-time bringing on Harewood for Thompson and Lester for Brennan. |
