Not the best start to the season after Forest lost 2-0 away to a strong Portsmouth team.

Things went badly for Forest from the off and on only seven minutes they found themselves 1-0 down when Dion Burton, on loan from D#*by put the ball in the back of the net.

There were a few chances for Forest in the first half, with Prutton and Brennan failing to make the most of their chances.

Then in the 44th minute Portsmouth scored again when Vincent Pericard headed the ball home from an O'Neil cross.

Paul Hart made changes at half-time bringing on Harewood for Thompson and Lester for Brennan.

Again there were chances for Forest, with Scimeca firing over the bar and Johnson hitting the side netting, but it wasn't to be.
