Goals from David Johnson, Jack Lester and Riccy Scimeca helped put Sheffield Wednesday to the sword today as Forest found their killer instinct.

Forest simply continued the form they found in the second half against Preston on Wednesday night and they opened up the scoring with barely three minutes on the clock, as Marlon Harewood slipped the ball through for David Johnson to smash past Kevin Pressman.

Wednesday were shocked by the early goal but they still battled hard and had chances of their own. Darren Ward being forced to make a couple of fine saves from Sibon, who also had a header rebound off the post.

Marlon Harewood had the ball in the back of the net in the first half as well. However, it was disallowed, though I still can't work out why.

The second half started just as brightly for Forest and inside three minutes of the restart, they doubled their lead after some lovely flowing football and slick passing between David Johnson and Jack Lester saw Lester finish clinically past the outstretched Pressman.

Forest were rampant now and enjoying their day out in the sun. Then things started to go horribly wrong for Wednesday. First Sibon was booked for a blatant and rather cynical body check on David Johnson and five minutes later he received his marching orders along with his second yellow card as he brought Jack Lester down with a badly timed tackle.

The writing was on the wall for Wednesday now, with by far their best player now enjoying an early bath they struggled to contain Forest and the party was in full swing when Marlon Harewood made his way to the by-line and cut the ball back for Riccy Scimeca who smashed his angled shot into the Wednesday net. It was 3-0 and Wednesday were on the rack.

Marlon Harewood was in a generous mood this afternoon and having a good game. Four minutes after setting up Scimeca's first goal he did exactly the same thing when he held the ball up, moved to the by-line and cut the ball back into the path of Scimeca. Scimeca blasted the ball past Pressman again and it was game, set and match to Forest.

An enjoyable afternoon's football and a fine team display from Forest. Moreover, it's great to see David Johnson so full of confidence and scoring, welcome back Johno.
