Well, it's now official - Forest are safe. Another point gained away from home, the mini unbeaten run still intact and the distinct possibility that Platt will be named Manager of the Month after we beat Port Vale!!

This game was never a classic encounter but for long periods Forest were the better side. The Reds started really well and were unlucky not to go ahead after only 12 minutes. Harewood picked up the ball in midfield and proceeded to do what he does best - run at defenders. Everyone appeared to back off him and Marlon reached the edge of the box before slipping the ball through to Lester, who turned inside and struck his shot past Tailor, only to see the effort hit the post and bounce clear.

5 minutes later and Lester did the business. This time the ball was won by Johnno in the centre of the field and he followed Marlon's example and ran at the Fulham defence. Again he was allowed to advance toward the box until he picked out Lester with a neat through ball. This time he was one on one with the keeper and he made no mistake, slipping the ball under Tailor and into the back of the net. 1- 0 and everything looking fine.

Needless to say, this stung Fulham into action but the Forest defence seemed to be handling things well so to concede an equaliser in the manner that they did was particularly disappointing. From a corner the inswinging ball evaded everyone except Coleman who was at the back post and from a couple of feet out he slammed the ball into the top corner.

Not surprisingly, Fulham had the best of the remainder of the half but never once looked like adding to the score. The second half was a very sedate affair, typical end of season stuff and the highlight was the embarrassing miss by Horsefield ( should be re-named Donkeyfield ). John Terry slipped over and left the Fulham player all alone , 4 yards out, in the centre of the goal. One air shot later and the ball hit his standing foot and trickled wide. So it finished 1-1, which I suppose was a fair enough result.
