Forest's poor start to the season took a turn for the worse this evening as they went down 1-0 to Brighton at The City Ground.
Forest looked the brighter side for the opening four or five minutes, but slowly they gave ground to Brighton and paid the price in the 25th minute when Adam Virgo headed home a Darren Currie corner for what turned out to be the only goal of the game.
Joe Kinnear replaced Andy Impey and Eoin Jess during the break with Marlon King and Eugen Bopp. It was a moved that had paid dividends against West Ham on Sunday.
Forest were a much improved side during the second half and Michael Kuipers in the Brighton goal pulled of some fine saves to prevent both Bopp and King getting on the scoresheet.
But it was Gareth Taylor who had the best chance to get Forest back on an equal footing as he powered a header towards goal, only to see Kuipers pull off a superb save.
Forest lacked a cutting edge in front of goal, and the first half display had cost them dearly, as they slid back in to the relegation zone.
They face Millwall on Sunday and I can only hope they put on a better display than this one or we will be in real trouble soon.
