McManus said "No" to Forest

Crewe new boy Scott McManus has revealed he rejected the chance to joining Nottingham Forest in favour of moving to Gresty Road.

The 19-year-old left-back signed a two-year deal with the Railwaymen on Monday after having a trial with Championship outfit Forest.
However, the former Manchester United trainee believes his development will be aided by having greater first-team opportunities with the Railwaymen.
He told the Sentinel: "I've been to Nottingham Forest on trial as well, but I've signed where I preferred to come.
"I have a better opportunity here I think, there is a better chance for me to progress with my career."

Watson move back on?

Nottingham Forest are again being linked with a move for Ben Watson, who looks up for grabs at Crystal Palace.

The midfielder remains at Selhurst Park despite strong interest from Forest, QPR and Birmingham City but reports now claim Palace are ready to let him go.

Forest are ready to pay £2.5million in installments for Watson and Palace reports claim Forest are ready to accept that method as the transfer deadline fast approaches.
